What would Christmas be without the wonderful specials that the duo of Rankin/Bass has produced over the years??? It was their vision that inspired some of todays "classics". (Ex. Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas")
Ever since I was a child, I have looked forward to seeing these brilliant animated specials and I hope you will enjoy what I've got for you here. :)

Year
Without a Santa Claus For years, I just called this: "the one with the Miser Brothers!" Let's face it, that's what we remember most from it! In this story, Santa Claus decides to take a year off because he feels that everyone has lost the Christmas spirit. It is up to Mrs. Claus, the elves, Jingle & Jangle, (with the help of Blitzen the reindeer) and a young boy named Ignatious Thistlewhite to try and prove to Santa that people still believe in him. However, they forget about the Miser Brothers who control the weather for the entire planet. |

Rudolph
the Red-Nosed Reindeer Based on that famous song, this story is about a young reindeer who has trouble fitting in because of his red nose. He decides to leave his family and encounters some great characters along the way. One thing to remember while watching this one: Bumbles Bounce! |

Santa
Claus is Coming to Town Why does Santa wear a red suit? Why does he have a beard?? How can he tell if we are good or bad??? The answers to these and many more questions can be found in this special. (Be sure to keep an eye out for Topper the Penguin---a personal favorite of mine!) |

Frosty
the Snowman The tale of how a very special snowman comes to life is the basis for this animated feature. This cartoon has everything: a bad guy, Santa, intrigue and a rabbit! One thing to note: Frosty was almost named--Oatmeal! |
